about
The Wave is an upbeat synthesizer-based indie-pop song I wrote while trying to cope with climate anxiety. It revolves around the metaphor of standing at a beach, looking at a tsunami wave coming in from a distance, and wondering if it would be possible to surf. I paraphrase some very cocky Johnny Cash lines in the song, but here they are changed into "Don't believe I'll stand my ground, I believe I'll turn around".
